Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS or PSTN) is now Digital

I had the opportunity to install 7 of these devices recently: Granite Communications EPIK

From an installation perspective it is very simple.  The functionality is spectacular as well.  It’s dial tone that you didn’t know you needed.

If you still have copper phone lines in use and are paying a local TelCo for them you may want to consider the EPIK as a replacement.

Most security systems and fire alarms have separate digital dialers that use cellular for communication.  The EPIK does the same thing from a single point.

It would make sense to find out how much you are being charged for separate cellular backups for security/fire alarms and consider if the EPIK could save you some money as well as eliminate a point of failure.

Consider the Granite EPIK for:

  • Fire and security alarms (NFPA 72 compliant)
  • Blue light boxes (usually located in parking garages for public safety)
  • Elevator voice circuits (safety measures)
  • Replacing many analog modems
  • Up to 8 analog lines (Granite has solutions for exceeding this limitation)

Other features include End-to-edge encryption on all calls, 24-hour battery backup, dual SIMs, monitored hourly 24/7 with automatic notification for critical alarm, Minimal inside wiring and it can also support value-added features such as an auto-attendant or IVR functionality.

Ask your local Telecommunications professional how you can get this advanced system to support your backup communications needs.  In the Austin/San Antonio area call 520 Integrations LLC.
